About the New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

It’s almost here. The follow-up to 2019’s smash success Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will come out in fall 2022. Here’s everything we know about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 so far, including features, game innovations, and more.

Activision’s Recent Announcement

On June 8, 2022, Activision made an official announcement about the upcoming release of this much-anticipated game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will kick off a new era for the franchise when it releases worldwide on Friday, October 28, 2022,” the company writes. “Witness and experience what made Task Force 141 become the iconic and legendary squad that it is as the action picks up following the harrowing and breathtaking action from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019).”
By the looks of things, it’s shaping up to be quite the sequel, with developers leaving “no stone unturned to create a new heart-pounding experience for players.” The game has numerous advancements that will build upon the original game. And the aesthetics are truly breathtaking.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Overview

Activision provides a detailed overview of the Campaign, saying it will take place across multiple countries, including the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and will involve combat in a wide variety of settings. There will be in-air combat, underwater combat, night missions under the cloak of darkness, and high-risk stealth missions in plain sight.
The new game will feature the squadmates you’ve come to love in the original, including captain John Price, Gaz, Ghost, and Soap, along with a brand new team member named Colonel Alejandro Vargas — a member of the Mexican Special Forces.
Once the player completes the Campaign, you can then team up with other players for additional Special Ops missions, like tactical co-op, to fine-tune your teamwork skills. There will also be a robust multiplayer mode where this game takes things to a whole new level.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Features

A significant number of innovations have been made to the next generation. Some of the most notable include “state-of-the-art gameplay, with all-new weapon handling, an advanced AI system, a new Gunsmith, and a suite of other gameplay and graphical innovations that elevate the franchise to new heights.”
There’s also added customization, a next-generation unified engine, hyper-realistic sound, world volumetric lighting, 4K HDR, and unparalleled graphics that utilize photogrammetry for an amazing 3D look. On top of that, Activision announced that RICOCHET Anti-Cheat will also be released the same day that Modern Warfare 2 comes out. And more features are still in the works.
While it still has yet to be determined if Modern Warfare 2 will live up to the hype, it sure looks promising. So if you’re looking for maximum immersion to get your blood pumping, you’ll definitely be interested in this game.
