Apple Fitness Plus: Features, Price, and Compatibility

Apple watches are great devices that make it easier to see texts and calls and control other functions of your iPhone from your wrist. One extremely popular function of smartwatches is their fitness tracking capabilities. Any Apple Watch owner can use their watch to track their sleep, heart rate, movement and exercise goals, and record their workout. But now Apple Fitness Plus takes the Apple Watch’s fitness capabilities to a whole new level. Not only can the watch track your fitness, but with Apple Fitness, you can choose a video or audio workout that helps you reach your goals.

Features

Apple Fitness Plus has a collection of video and audio workouts. They are accessible from iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs and pair with your watch to monitor your health metrics and workout goals. In addition, there are 11 different workout types, including yoga, strength, HIIT, and more, as well as guided meditations.
There are workouts for every fitness level, from beginner to advanced, for every age and lifestyle. You can choose a workout as quick as 5 minutes or as long as 45.
Some require no equipment, and some you can do at the gym. Different exercise programs are designed to help meet many goals, including weight loss, stamina, and strength-building. There is also audio for walking and running. For example, a walking exercise may tell you an inspirational story about a person, place, song, etc., designed to motivate you. Running audios can allow you to learn about and explore different cities, even if you’re on the treadmill at your local gym.
Apple Fitness Plus claims they add new workouts every week, so there is bound to be something from everyone. You can easily search by exercise type, trainer, music, length, and overall vibe to find a workout that suits you. Fitness Plus will also show you smart suggestions for activities similar to your typical exercises and ones that are a little different to help break the routine.

Price

Apple customers can get Apple Fitness free for three months with the purchase of an Apple Watch. Alternatively, anyone can get a one-month free trial. After that, it’s $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year, which is the same price as competitor Fitbit Premium.
For those who subscribe to Apple Music, Apple TV+, and other Apple offerings, Apple Fitness Plus is bundled in the Apple One Premium tier. The premium subscription includes Apple TV+, Fitness+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, 2TB of iCloud+ storage, and Apple News+. At $29.95 a month, it can be shared with five people and saves $25. This is a good option for those who subscribe to multiple Apple services, want to share Fitness Plus with others or need the iCloud storage. Additionally, Apple Music customers can save curated playlists from Apple Fitness Plus to their libraries.

Compatibility

You can access Apple Fitness from the Fitness app on iPhones, iPads, and even the Apple TV through the fitness app. However, Apple Fitness requires iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs to be on iOS 14.3 or later. Apple Watches need to be on watchOS 7.2 or later. For the best performance and access to the newest feature, Apple Fitness Plus should be used with Apple Watch Series 3 or later on watchOS 8. It also works best with iPhone 6 or later.  iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs should be in OS 15 or later.

Apple Watch Warranty

An Apple Watch is required for Apple Fitness+ to customize your workouts by including personal metrics tracked by your watch’s sensors. So, it’s important to keep your watch protected and functional to take advantage of Apple Fitness’s benefits. The best way to protect your device is by purchasing an extended warranty. Unfortunately, many retailers’ warranties, including Apple Care, are overpriced.
You don’t want to pay an expensive repair or replacement charge. But you also don’t want to break the bank by buying an overpriced warranty plan from the store. If Apple Care isn’t purchased immediately, you’ll have to take your product to an Apple store for diagnostic testing before enrolling it. Afterward, you’ll have to return to the Apple store for every repair.
Upsie’s Apple Watch warranty plans are comprehensive, convenient, and more affordable than major competitors. For example, you can enroll an Apple Watch Series 7 in a 2-year warranty plan for $52.99 or a 3-year plan for $86.99. A warranty plan from Upsie will cover your watch from screen cracks, drops, liquid damage, mechanical defects, and more. Submit a claim 24-7-365, and choose from a mail-in repair with free two-day shipping, or Upsie will help you find a local repair technician. Keep your Apple Watch protected with convenient and affordable coverage from Upsie.
