Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition: What’s New?

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 from Samsung is one of the hottest smartphones on the market right now. And it just got hotter. That's because the South Korean technology giant has introduced the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition. Aimed squarely at fashion-forward consumers, rarely before has a smartphone been as stylish, customizable, and, as a result, eye-catching as Samsung's latest model.
Google's one-time modular smartphone project and subsequent efforts by the likes of Xiaomi have long promised buyers the option to customize their handsets. However, this has largely been focused on functionality — something that Dutch brand Fairphone does very well in Europe.
Looks-wise, though, smartphone owners have traditionally been forced to rely on cases and other accessories to customize their handsets. Beyond that, most brands have drawn, and continue to draw, a line at a handful of color choices, including both Samsung and arguably its trendiest and most stylish competitor, Apple.
Until now, that is. Because Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition looks set to change how people buy and customize their smartphones forever.

Meet the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition

Unveiled at Samsung's recent Unpacked Part 2 event, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition is the latest addition to the Galaxy-branded smartphone range. As the name suggests, its biggest selling point is its customizability. Aside from that, it's the same as the standard handset.
Yet, by opting for the Bespoke Edition, consumers get a choice of frame, front, and back colors. Unfortunately, it's not, perhaps, as customizable as one might expect, given the Bespoke moniker. Instead, in the U.S., and for now at least, Samsung fans get a choice of exclusively black or silver phone frames. The front and back can then feature any combination of black, blue, pink, white, or yellow panels.
So, nicely customizable, but only to a point. Nonetheless, as it stands, Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition buyers should be able to design their handsets in any one of around 50 different ways.
Further options also appear to be on the horizon, although these may be limited to overseas markets. With additional possibilities potentially including a gold frame and cream, green, or lavender front and back panels, the number of conceivable combinations would be many, many times higher in this instance.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition Cost

The standard Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is already an expensive smartphone at around $1,000. Opting for a fully customized Bespoke Edition handset adds a further $100, seeing it priced at $1,099. All told, it's not a huge premium, especially on an already costly device.
One major perk of choosing the roughly $1,100 Bespoke Edition model is that, should you become tired of your choice of colors in the future, they can be changed. But, as one might expect, this comes at an additional fee. Offered as a part of Samsung's new and accompanying Bespoke Upgrade Care service, prices are set to start at $79
With that, Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition owners will have the option to change either the front or back color or colors of their handsets. The initial choice of black or silver frame is permanent, though. The same would also apply to any other future frame colors, of course.

Upgrade to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition

Interested parties are now free to customize and buy their very own Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition handsets via the official Samsung website. However, due to the tailor-made nature of the new model, buyers should allow up to six weeks for manufacture and delivery.

Samsung Bespoke Studio Program

There's further good news for those keen to potentially customize other devices from the Samsung product lineup as well. The company, it says, wants its technology to reflect the individuality of its customers through self-expression.
Accordingly, and following a positive reception for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition, Samsung will expand its efforts in this regard to other devices moving forward. Expect Samsung to announce additional details in due course.

Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Warranty

Samsung offers limited smartphone warranty policies for all models, including flagship handsets like the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition and the Galaxy S21 and S21+ — great news for those looking to upgrade.
Unfortunately, limited warranties don't provide full coverage for your device. For better protection, look at extended warranty options. Upsie offers extended smartphone subscription warranties for a range of smartphone devices, including the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
With Upsie, customers protect their devices from accidental damage and access 24/7 claims support. In addition, Upsie’s warranties cost just $9.99 per month.
Upsie also offers non-subscription warranties for tablets, laptops, appliances, and more.
