The Best Hisense TV Warranty

Hisense is a quality brand that makes dozens of home products, including TVs. But just how good is a Hisense TV warranty, and is there a better option out there?

What is Hisense?

Hisense is an electronics company that was initially founded in 1969 in Qingdao, China. The company is the number one Hisense TV brand in China and South Africa. Hisense is headquartered in Suwanee, GA, but has facilities in Europe, Central America, and South Africa.
They also have research and development offices around the globe. Hisense’s vision is “To become the most trusted company and loved brand in the U.S. Consumer Electronic and Home Appliance industries by offering solutions that customers desire.”

Hisense Products

Hisense is best known for its quality TVs and audio equipment, but it also makes other lines of home products like air conditioners, dehumidifiers, air purifiers, and home appliances like refrigerators, dishwashers, freezers, and wine coolers.

How to Choose a Hisense Warranty

Like most companies that make electronics, Hisense offers its customers a limited warranty. Specifically, the Hisense TV warranty covers only a year for manufacturing defects. It also states, “Just in case your newly purchased TV needs to be serviced, please keep the original packaging materials and original receipt. Damage to a Product returned to Hisense for service due to inadequate packaging will void your warranty.”
The warranty includes other exclusions and fine print, along with the warning about original packing materials and damage when transporting it for service. When you file a claim, you must prove your purchase by showing them your original receipt. Who keeps original receipts around for that long?
Additionally, the claims department is only open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Outside of those hours, you will have to wait. Hisense also retains the discretion of whether or not to perform on-site repairs. Some of the additional exclusions include:
  • Defects from abusive operation; negligence; accident; shipment damages; improper delivery and installation
  • Cosmetic damage to the Product surface or exterior
  • Defects caused by any external or environmental conditions, including fluctuations or surges in transmission line/power line voltage, liquid spills
  • Products with altered, illegible, or missing model, factory serial number, and UL markings
  • Products used for rental, business, or commercial purposes.
  • Screen burn-in, signal noise or echo, interference or other signal transmission or delivery problems
These are not the only limitations. It is pretty clear that the manufacturer’s warranty for Hisense TVs is not the best you can do.
