iPhone 14 Leaks: Rumors, Specs, and Release Date

Apple creates some of the most innovative technology on the market, and they seem to raise the bar with every new product they release. The iPhone 13 was released in September 2021, and with September 2022 quickly approaching, people are eager to see what Apple does next. We’ve gathered the latest iPhone 14 leaks to keep patrons of the popular brand in the loop on Apple’s latest developments.

The iPhone 14 Lineup

According to Tom’s Guide's iPhone 14 leaks, there will be four phones in the iPhone 14 lineup: the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Max, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple discontinued the iPhone mini seen in the iPhone 12 and 13 lineups, so there will be no iPhone 14 mini. There will only be two sizes of the iPhone 14, with the standard and Pro models featuring a 6.1-inch screen, and the Max and Pro Max will have a 6.7-inch screen.

Design

Many expect the iPhone 14 to look very similar to the iPhone 13, with flat edges around the side. The edges may be titanium, increasing the new iPhone’s durability. Rumors also say that Apple will bring back the round volume buttons seen in the iPhone 14.
The iPhone 14 may feature an Always On display, but this will be limited to Pro models. The Pros may also see a change in the signature notch at the top of front displays containing the FaceID technology. Instead, the new iPhone Pro models may see a hole cutout for the camera and a pill-shaped cutout for the FaceID equipment. However, the standard iPhone 14 and Max models will still feature the same notch seen since 2017.
To set the standard and Pro models further apart, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may come with ProMotion technology. This new technology would give the new phones a refresh rate of 120Hz. It’s uncertain if the iPhone 14 standard models will feature a faster refresh rate or stick with the standard 60Hz.

Camera

With every release of a new iPhone, Apple customers look to see what advances have been made in the cameras. All iPhone 14 models may see an upgrade in the front-facing camera, with a wider f/1.9 aperture, 6-part lenses, and built-in autofocus.
The Pro models could see a huge upgrade in their back camera set up, with a possible 48mp sensor. The iPhone 14 standard and Max models will remain with a 12mp camera. Pro models may also be capable of 8K recording.

Technical Specs

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max most likely contain the year-old A15 chip, while the iPhone Pro and Pro Max get the A16 chip. Despite the chip difference, all new iPhone models are expected to have 6GB of RAM, the same iPhone 13 models. It’s also possible that the iPhone 14 will contain a new 5G chip that uses less power for the same high-quality speeds and connectivity that iPhones are known for.
A smaller 5G chip could leave room for a larger battery pack, which could mean an upgraded, longer battery life. In addition, there were rumors that the iPhone 14 could be Apple’s first phone that uses USB-C charging. However, that seems unlikely, and the iPhone 14 will most likely contain the standard Lightning charger.

Release Date and Price

iPhone 14 leaks say that Apple will announce the iPhone 14 in September 2022, a year after the iPhone 13 release. This is not confirmed, though. The standard iPhone 14 is expected to cost $799 and $899 for the iPhone Max.
The iPhone 14 Pros are expected to see more upgrades, which may be reflected in the price. The iPhone 14 Pro may cost $1099, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max may cost $1,199. This is about a $100 increase from iPhone 13 Pro models. If the rumored upgrades are true, this price may be justified.
